Under this Department, the Firm has a team that has specialized in the area of family law and the law of will and trusts. The team uses its vast knowledge and skills in amicably and speedily assisting families to settle disputes having regard to the importance of the family unit. We believe that the family is an important relationship and is the foundation of the society. It is therefore our goal to ensure that family disputes are resolved in the most amicable way possible.

The services offered include drafting of prenuptial or cohabitation agreements; mediation of a family dispute and property settlements; maintenance and financial agreements, child support, alimony agreements, parental responsibility agreements; local and international adoptions; custody, legal guardianship or child fostering arrangements; and separation or divorce agreements.

It is also important for clients to plan for the future. Succession planning reduces future conflicts in the event of the departure of a loved one. Succession planning is done through wills and trusts, both addressing different concerns and achieving different results. The Firm is able to offer succession planning services to our clients, and has done so for many years. These include steps to be taken when someone dies; drafting and interpretation of wills and how to approach instances when a will is invalidated or cannot be found or there is no will; obtaining the Grant of Probate or Grant of Letters of Administration; preserving assets of the estate; advise on estate tax; advise on trusts and wills and which is appropriate in particular instances
